On Sunday night, the 2015 edition of the escgo! Chat Awards were held in our #esc chatroom.

This fun annual event attracted a healthy audience of chatters, all of whom got the opportunity to vote on the nominees in various categories as we honoured our favourites from the 2015 ESC season.

Nine of the Chat Awards were decided by live polls based on the nominations submitted by regular chatters, and the winners were as follows:

• Best official preview video for an ESC 2015 song: Romania (“De la capăt”)
  [also nominated: Belgium, Estonia, Azerbaijan]
• Best outfit worn at ESC 2015: Latvia (Aminata)
  [also nominated: Australia, Georgia]
• Best staging at ESC 2015: Belgium (“Rhythm Inside”)
  [also nominated: Estonia, Latvia]
• Best solo artist at ESC 2015: Latvia (Aminata)
  [also nominated: Belgium, Sweden, Australia]
• Best band or other non-solo artist at ESC 2015: Estonia (Elina Born & Stig Rästa)
  [also nominated: Italy]
• Best song at ESC 2015: Latvia (“Love Injected”)
  [also nominated: Belgium, Romania]
• Best national final of the 2015 season: Latvia (Supernova)
  [also nominated: Norway, Germany, Romania]
• Hottest entrant in a national final or at ESC in 2015: Vaidas Baumila
  [also nominated: Václav Noid Bárta, Nina Sublatti, Samir Badran, Daniel Levi, Ann Sophie]
• #esc cult of the year: Rigas Bebrs
  [also nominated: “Fjollat”, Pyroskirt, “NO!”]

We also gave out the Lifetime Achievement Award, chosen by the escgo! editors, to an ESC legend who left us since last year’s Chat Awards: Udo Jürgens.

The evening finished with the results of the grand final of SongHunt 2015, which you can read all about here. Crowning a night of Latvian success in the Chat Awards, the winner – which duly received our “Song Of The Year” award – was “Nefelibata” by MNTHA.
