SongHunt 2017 finalist presentation: “Se o tempo não falasse” by Inês Sousa
Inês Sousa could be in Kyiv now, representing Portugal with her song “Se o tempo não falasse”. But our SongHunt rules only allow songs that didn’t win their national finals, but got a lot of love in our Eurovision chat. This love took the song to the heats, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, and now it’s one of the twelve candidates in the grand SongHunt final. What is SongHunt about, you may wonder? Well, for those who don’t know already: It’s about finding the best national final song of the Eurovision season!
From Festival da Canção to SongHunt
Back on 26 February, “Se o tempo não falasse” competed in the second semi-final of Festival da Canção, the Portuguese preselection for ESC 2017, but failed to qualify for the final. Thus, it could only enter SongHunt by succeeding in the Last Chance Poll – which it did. A total of seven Portuguese songs made it to our heats, but only one of them reached the grand final: In many ways the most unlikely finalist of all, Inês has continued to enjoy the favour of our chatters and website users, and we are happy to present her song now:
Inês Sousa – Se o tempo não falasse
Watch the song below, and and if you like it, you might want to give it a vote in our SongHunt poll further down the page! Or maybe you like one of the other entries more? Whatever your choice, you can vote once in each 24-hour period. For full details, see our main post about the SongHunt final.
