SongHunt 2020 – Heat 8

by | Mar 22, 2020 | Eurovision, Featured, SongHunt |

The SongHunt continues!

Even with the news of the cancellation of ESC 2020, we believe it’s important to honour the songs that fought for a place in the contest and give them their moment in the spotlight – so after Heat 7 last week, our quest to find the most robbed song from the 2020 national final season now continues with the last of our heats, namely Heat 8.

In the spirit of community in these strange times, we decided to make this final heat a “chatters’ choice” edition. We informally polled the people in the #esc chat and the vote-counters who make SongHunt possible, and asked them to choose the songs they wanted to see that hadn’t yet made it into a SongHunt heat

Your task is simple: You have three votes to give to your favourite songs!

The poll closes at 23:59 CET on Saturday. A video playlist can be found below the poll if you need a reminder.

(2/2) "Now it can be seen as a song of hope for a brighter future,
especially for our friends in Italy who are going through such horrors
right now.

I hope you enjoy it... maybe even if you were never fond of the original version."

From HCSC regular & 2010 winner Andy Brook:

"This is what I've been doing since lockdown.

I arranged a stripped down version of 'Insieme: 1992' by Toto Cutugno. It won the #Eurovision Song Contest 30 years ago, at a time full of optimism." (1/2)

We are saddened to hear of the passing of three-time Ivor Novello and Eurovision winning songwriter member Bill Martin. Bill’s distinguished career stretched over many decades and he leaves us with such evergreen classics as ‘Puppet On A String’, ‘Congratulations’... 1/3
