Candy from Georgia won the 9th Junior Eurovision Song Contest, hosted in Yerevan, Armenia. The winning song “Candy Music” achieved 108 points on the scoreboard, followed by The Netherlands (103 points). Russia and Belarus follow with 99 points each. A total of 13 countries sent their entries to Armenia.
The results in the very close race were a combination of jury (50%) and televote (50%). The start of the televoting was set back to after the last song was performed. Due to the low number of entries, all spokespersons announced their points in full length from 1 to 12.
One of the special guests was Sirusho, who represented the host country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade with the song “Qele Qele”.
