The line-up for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest is nearly complete! Tonight Moldova selected their song for Baku, and it was Pasha Parfeny who came out on top.
For all it was performed in English, the song appears to be called “Lautar”. Then again, we’re not quite sure what was going on most of the time, what with goths and dancing girls and cardboard cut-out sunshines and Geta Berlacu and all sorts of other nonsense.
Pretty much what you’d expect from the average national final, in other words – and indeed Moldova didn’t disappoint by adding the usual intrigue, with the jury completely overturning the will of the televote to send Pasha to this year’s contest. There, he will perform in the second half of the second semi-final, where he will be looking to keep up Moldova’s impressive recent qualification record for the final.
