“Festivali i Këngës” takes a break from the competition and instead looks back on the past 49 years tonight. The contest was established in 1962, long before Albania’s first participation at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004. Already before, we wrote a long article about the history of the festival. For tonight, a special committee decided which of the former songs will be performed. It’s not known yet which of the original artists will sing, apart of former ESC entrants Frederik Ndoci (FiK 1989, ESC 2007) and Aurela Gace (FiK 1999 & 2001, ESC 2011).
