“La La Love” leaves rivals la-la-lagging in Cyprus

Ivi Adamou will represent Cyprus at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan, with the song “La La Love”.

Written by the international team of Alex Papaconstantinou, Björn Djupström, Alexandra Zakka and Viktor Svensson, “La La Love” easily won the three-song Cypriot final, obtaining the 12-point award from both the televoters and the jury. Following today’s allocation draw, we now know that Ivi Adamou will sing the song in the second half of the first semi-final on Tuesday 22 May.

It’s becoming a habit this season, but the #esc chatroom agreed with the verdict of the 50/50 vote in Cyprus – our ranking was as follows:

1. La la love (7.41 points average)
2. Call the police (6.91 points)
3. You don’t belong here (5.67 points)
