Anmary won Eirodziesma 2012, the Latvian national final for ESC 2012!
Her song, “Beautiful Song”, won the superfinal ahead of “Music Thief” (which was expected by many to win the whole thing, having dominated the semi-finals) and a dramatic ballad duet called “I Want You Back”.
The lyrics of the Latvian entry involve Johnny Logan, “Jagger-Mick” and Sir Paul McCartney. (Of course they do.)
Originally, 20 songs competed for the ticket to Baku. Two semi-finals narrowed them down to 10 finalists. In the final, they were then reduced to three super-finalists. The result was a achieved by a combination of televoting and juries.
