Eldrine win Barbara Dex Award 2011

by | May 22, 2011 | Uncategorized

Eldrine, this year’s Georgian representatives, have won the Barbara Dex Award 2011. A total of 810 valid votes were counted by the website “The House Of Eurovision”, which has hosted the annual award since 1997.

Every year, the poll is launched after the Eurovision final in order to select the participant with the worst clothing. The name of the event goes back to the Belgian singer from 1993, Barbara Dex, who is widely known as the participant with legendarily unfortunate clothing according to common consensus within the Eurovision community.

In the past years, a lot of voters got the actual sense of the award wrong, voting participants to victory who had bizarre or extreme clothing deliberately.

Full results:

1. Georgia (Eldrine, 133 votes)

2. Ireland (Jedward, 81 votes)

3. Moldova (Zdob si Zdub, 66 votes)

4. Turkey (61)

5. Portugal (59)

6. Hungary (56)

7. Albania (45)

8. Croatia (31)

9. Slovenia (28)

10. Israel (21)
