As the season is slowly progressing, more internally selected entrants for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 have been announced. France and Bosnia & Herzegovina have revealed their artists, as has Montenegro, making a return to the contest following its last appearance in 2009. However, Polish TV has apparently announced via its Facebook profile that it will not participate in 2012, although nothing is 100% official just yet.
So far, the list of internally selected participants consists entirely of solo singers, some of whom are very well known – even internationally. Let’s have a closer look at the three latest additions!
France has chosen Anggun, if not a global superstar then certainly a rather famous name. The Indonesian-born singer moved to Paris in 1995 and went through many different phases in her career. Among other things, she cooperated with the German project “Schiller”, who were the interval act of the German national final 2002. (article continues)
Montenegro has gone for Rambo Amadeus, a famous musician and general “media character” throughout the former Yugoslavia who should certainly provide some extra colour in Baku. For some reason, one of his songs on YouTube uses the video for Tommy Seebach’s “Apache”, so the Eurovision connection is already there, whether Rambo is responsible for it or not! Despite all of the rumours about Bosnia & Herzegovina and Hari Mata Hari, Maya Sar will represent the country in Azerbaijan. Maya is a young singer/songwriter from Tuzla and no stranger to the big Eurovision stage, as she has been a backing vocalist there before, including in 2004 and 2011.
