The Georgian national final, or შიდაშესარჩევი კონკურსის, was held early evening local time on Sunday, giving Central and Western Europe an afternoon treat treat to help wake them up again after yesterday’s seven-show marathon.
Nine entries competed to be the Caucasian nation’s representative in May 2012 just down the road in Baku, and after a voting procedure involving both juries and televoting, Anri Jokhadze came out on top with the song “I’m A Joker” (also written elsewhere as “I’m Jocker”, but we’re going to assume they’ll go with the correct version at ESC itself!).
When ESC 2012 rolls around later this spring, Georgia will perform in the second half of the semi-final, where they will be hoping to preserve their 100% qualification record for the grand final.
