Melodifestivalen: Our Saturday

by | Mar 10, 2012 | Uncategorized

12:59 (Felix) Good morning!

Our third day in Stockholm has begun (don’t tell Jesus Christ we were in Paradise) – and I’m having a coffee from the hotel bar right now. Weather is meh, cloudy, that is, but today is the big day for Melodifestivalen! We won’t tell you any news when we say that 10 Swedish entrants will compete for a ticket to Baku tonight, but more important news is:

If you buy today’s Aftonbladet, you can cut out a Ranelid mask from it, and use it tonight or for other occasions. It will come in handy eventually.

13:25 (Martin) Boo, and I just sent someone to get me a coffee from 7Eleven and didn’t think to add a Ranelid mask to the list! Not much I can add to what Felix says for now, really. Great night at Paradise last night – they played “Alcanzarás la luna”, for heaven’s sake! – although my right foot is currently regretting the decision to go clubbing in new shoes.

Other than that, the only real “news” is that last night’s Globen audience poll saw a much closer win for Loreen over Danny – 36% to 33%. Then again, the audience was mainly comprised of kids and Loreen still won, so…

17:30 (Martin) Here we go, then. Felix is getting ready to go to Globen and will give you his impressions in due course – whereas I’m doing the show from the inside of a hotel room accompanied by lashings of wine. Which will no doubt result in some impressions of its own. More later!

17:54 (Felix) Ready? I definitely am. Are you?
