Romania sends Mandinga to Baku

by | Mar 11, 2012 | Uncategorized

Mandinga will represent Romania at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

The group, whose lead singer used to be Elena of “Balkan Girls” (ESC 2009) fame, romped to victory in tonight’s Romanian final with the song “Zaleilah”.

Although they weren’t the jury favourite, the televote was clearly on Mandinga’s side, and now their up-tempo ethno-flavoured dance track will defend the Romanian colours in Baku in the first half of the first semi-final on Tuesday 22 May.
