This Friday: Icelandic semi-finals begin

by | Jan 25, 2013 | Uncategorized

This evening, Iceland begins its quest to find an entry for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö with the first of two semi-finals in the Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins competition.

Familiar faces in tonight’s line-up include Yohanna (ESC 2009) and Birgitta Haukdal (ESC 2003), as well as Magni Ásgeirsson, who has finished on the podium twice in the last two Icelandic finals and will be looking to go one better this year.

Six songs will be performed in tonight’s show and a 50/50 jury/televote will decide which three will progress to the grand final on 2nd February. The other semi-final will be held tomorrow night.
