Spain sends Edurne to Eurovision

by | Jan 14, 2015 | Uncategorized

Edurne will represent Spain in Vienna!

As Spanish broadcaster TVE announced today, the popular singer will represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song “Amanecer” (“Dawn”), which she describes as a high-quality pop song. The title of the song instantly reminds us of the Spanish entry 1972, “Amanece” (“It’s dawning”). The song will be presented at a later point.

Edurne was one of the finalists in Operación Triunfo 2005, the format that had previously been won by Rosa (Spain 2002), among others. (It’s Rosa’s 34th birthday today, by the way. Happy birthday, Rosa!)

Since then, Edurne has released several studio albums, played in the Spanish version of the musical Grease and participated in various TV shows, including the Spanish equivalent of Strictly Come Dancing, where she achieved a second place.

She is in a partnership with David De Gea, goalkeeper at English Premier League football club Manchester United.
