Irish finalists for ESC 2015 revealed

by | Feb 9, 2015 | Uncategorized

The five songs that will compete in the Irish final for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest were revealed early this morning. They will be played for the first time on RTÉ Radio One from 3pm this afternoon.

Despite repeated complaints about the sound and mixing quality in the studio, Ireland’s national final will again take the form of a special edition of the long-running Late Late Show, this time on Friday 27 February.

The entries are:

  • Alex Saint and the MJs – She’s So Fine
  • Kat Mohan – Anybody Got A Shoulder
  • Erika Selin – Break Me Up
  • Nikki Kavanagh – Memories
  • Molly Sterling – Playing With Numbers

The format of the national final looks set to be unchanged, with the usual 50/50 mix of jury and public votes, although it remains to be seen whether Linda Martin will be invited back for another chance to call one of the songwriters an “odious little man”.

Ireland will perform in the first half of the second semi-final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, and will be looking to qualify for the grand final after failing to make it through in 2014.
