Today: Finals in Estonia and Lithuania – plus three more shows

by | Feb 21, 2015 | Uncategorized

Tonight is another busy “Super Saturday” in the 2015 Eurovision season, with five shows for ESC fans around the continent to juggle and navigate!

Following two semi-finals, Estonia will select its entry for Vienna in the final of Eesti Laul 2015. A 50-50 mixture of televoting and an expert jury will narrow down the ten finalists to a superfinal of three, before televoting alone is used to determine the winner.

Finland will host the third of three semi-finals of UMK (Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu). Six songs will compete, three of which will qualify for the final on 28 February. The outcome will be based on televoting alone.

Hungary progresses to the second semi-final of A Dal. In tonight’s show, nine songs will be performed. In the first round of voting, three qualifiers will be determined by the combination of scores from each judge and an the A Dal app vote. In the second round of voting, the remaining six entries that were not in the initial top three will face a televote in order to determine one additional qualifier. The Hungarian final will be held on 28 February.

Meanwhile, we already know that “This Time” will be the song representing Lithuania at ESC 2015, but we still need to find out which performer – or combination of performers – will sing it in Vienna. Three singers have made it through to tonight’s show, where that question will be answered in a combined jury/televoting decision.

And last but not least, Sweden continues to celebrate Melodifestivalen 2015 tonight, with the third semi-final being held in Östersund. Another seven acts will compete for two direct tickets to the grand final on 14 March. The entries that finish in 3rd and 4th position will be sent to the 2nd chance round, “Andra Chansen”, on 7 March. The bottom three will be eliminated.

You can find all the details of tonight’s shows in the tabs on the right-hand side. Further down, you can toggle between “Today” and “Calendar” view.

Don’t forget to join us in the #esc chat, where we’ll be watching, talking about and voting on the shows.
Tonight’s songs (except Lithuania) will also compete to qualify for our own SongHunt. The scores given to each song by our chatters will have an influence on which songs will qualify for the next heat, to be launched tomorrow night.
