The Swedish entry for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest will be “Heroes” by Måns Zelmerlöw.
The bookmakers’ favourite didn’t just win Melodifestivalen this evening – it annihilated the competition. Already leading by 48 points after the international juries had voted, the Swedish public picked Zelmerlöw as their clear favourite too, leaving Jon Erik Fjällgren in a distant second place.
There was a brief hint of scandal earlier in the evening when SVT’s voting app crashed again, meaning that all of the app votes were discounted. However, with such a clear winner, there is unlikely to be as much fallout in the media as there would have been if the fight had been closer!
“Heroes” was also our favourite in the #esc chat, achieving an impressive average score of 8.24 out of 10. At ESC 2015, Sweden will perform in the second half of the second semi-final on Thursday 21 May.
Meanwhile, keep enjoying our live coverage from Melodifestivalen here on escgo.com – we’ll be reporting back from tonight’s aftershow party with all the gossip and photos, so stay tuned!
