It’s hard to believe, but it’s true: We’ve reached the last Super Saturday of the 2015 national final season! And it’s a Scandinavian special, as two of the big hitters – Sweden and Norway – pick their entries for Vienna.
In a fundamental change of format, Norway has ditched the semi-finals and returned to a single-show Melodi Grand Prix – with a live orchestra, no less! Eleven songs will be performed for the first time tonight, with four superfinalists progressing to battle it out for the ticket to ESC 2015.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the scale, the six-week Melodifestivalen bandwagon reaches its destination with the grand final in Sweden. We’ve been live on the scene in Stockholm for the last few days, with comprehensive reporting and interviews from the rehearsals and press conferences and more besides – and this evening, the international juries (50%) and Swedish telephone and app voters (50%) will decide which of the twelve participating entries will go forward to Vienna and fight for the nation’s sixth Eurovision victory.
You can find the details of tonight’s shows on the right-hand side. Further down, you can toggle between “Today” and “Calendar” view.
Don’t forget to join us in the #esc chat, where we’ll be watching, talking about and voting on the shows.
Tonight’s songs will also compete to qualify for our own SongHunt. The scores given to each song by our chatters will have an influence on which songs will qualify for the next heat, to be launched on Sunday.
