Christabelle to represent Malta at ESC 2018

Some national finals are tense affairs with plenty of excitement on the scoreboard. That couldn’t really be said of tonight’s Maltese national final for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, which was won by Christabelle and her song “Taboo”.

Although the ESC-style presentation of the votes added a bit of fizz to proceedings, “Taboo” was the clear favourite of the expert international jury and a narrow winner with the televoters, leading to a comfortable overall victory.

Christabelle Borg therefore wins the ticket to the big contest on her fourth attempt, having previously knocked on the door with the similarly single-worded “Lovetricity” (2014), “Rush” (2015) and “Kingdom”.
