Søren Torpegaard Lund from Denmark is the winner of ChatVote 2026!

The winner of the 22nd annual ChatVote is “Før vi går hjem” by Søren Torpegaard Lund!

In voting that took place over the past week and during tonight’s live event, our chat community decided that the best song in the upcoming 2026 Eurovision Song Contest is the one representing Denmark. Second place was taken by Finland (“Liekinheitin” by Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen) and third place went to Australia (“Eclipse” by Delta Goodrem).

This was the final result:

But you’re probably wondering how we got there. So let’s tell you!

As usual in ChatVote, voting took place in two phases. Firstly, we asked our chatters to submit their top 10 from all 35 of this year’s competing songs in advance. We then called them up in turn to present their votes in the chat – or rather, only their top three, to keep some mystery around the proceedings.

Then it was time for the chat-only Supervote, an extra televote-style vote to reflect the taste of those chatters attending the event and reward them for their participation. As is traditional, only the top ten songs in the jury vote went forward to the Supervote and were eligible to receive points. We began by revealing those ten entries in random order in this video:

After our chatters submitted their “televotes”, we converted them into scores of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80 and 100 points (with two songs receiving zero), then added them to the jury scores to produce the final result.

And, of course, the climax of the event was the presentation of the full results! We started by revealing the full jury classification, Sanremo-style, from 35th up to 1st:

As you can see, after the jury stage we had an incredibly close contest, with just four points separating the entries from Denmark, Finland and Australia. This meant the live Supervote would definitely decide the winner.

Sometimes the Supervote turns things on its head completely – but this year it really didn’t! It was actually an incredibly close fight between Denmark and Finland in the chat vote, but in the end, the top three from the jury vote was repeated exactly in the Supervote.

We revealed the Supervote points in an exciting finale as follows:

After all that, our very warmest congratulations go to Søren Torpegaard Lund, who succeeds Shkodra Elektronike from Albania and joins the long list of past ChatVote winners in our well-established event. This marks the first ever victory for Denmark in ChatVote, following second places in the past for Fyr og Flamme and Emmelie de Forest. Last but not least, huge thanks to our #esc chat community for their participation and enthusiasm as always. We hope they – and you – have a brilliant Eurovision Song Contest, and we wish all the best to our ChatVote 2026 champion. Let’s end by watching it one more time!
