ESC week on escgo!

by | May 5, 2023 | 2023 Home Blog, Eurovision, Featured

A quick update from your escgo! team as we approach the week of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest:

You may have noticed we’ve been a bit quiet this year beyond the SongHunt and ChatVote events in our chat community. Thanks to those of you who’ve asked about our usual Line-Up Check review series – unfortunately, due to various reasons, we haven’t been able to give you our thoughts in that format this year. We very much hope to resume normal service next year, because it’s a highlight for us too!

Last year our application for online press centre access wasn’t accepted, and we didn’t apply this year. As you probably know by now, the EBU has decided to limit press access to an even greater extent than before anyway, so there’ll be no fan press access until the first dress rehearsal of the first semi-final on Monday afternoon. In the absence of a virtual accreditation badge around our own necks, we can always recommend a look at our sister site ESC Nation and their live blog.

Even if we’re not blogging in the traditional sense this year, we’re certainly hoping to bring you some of our usual content between now and the end of next week – which means more personal insights and impressions from Shi, Felix and Martin, as well as our team’s predictions for what will happen in the two semi-finals and the grand final.

Unconventional coverage or not, we’re hugely looking forward to ESC week – and, of course, the doors to our chatroom are always open!

In the meantime, please enjoy this video of the Shiru Group performing “Cha Cha Cha”:
