On Sunday 29th December 2013, the first ever Chat Awards took place in the #esc chatroom. This was the première edition of what is intended to become a new, fun annual event.

Our chatters and Facebook fans were asked in advance to nominate candidates in eight out of ten categories. During the grand final in the chat, the winners were determined by secret live polls in most categories.

The award winners for 2013 are:

Best preview video: Finland (“Marry Me”)
Best national final: Norway
Best dress: Moldova (Aliona Moon)
Best staging: Malta (“Tomorrow”)
Best solo artist: Anouk (Netherlands)
Best non-solo artist: Who See feat. Nina Žižić (Montenegro)
Best song: Norway (“I Feed You My Love”)
#esc cult of the year: Bed On Fire – Goat Version

The lifetime achievement award went to Lys Assia, based on a decision by the award producers.

“Song Of The Year” was Bombo, based on the cumulative result of the Chat Charts 2013.
