Tonight: Germany’s wildcard round

by | Feb 19, 2015 | Uncategorized

Tonight, the “Clubkonzert” – the wildcard round for the German selection format Unser Song Für Österreich – will be staged in Hamburg.

The artists previously applied for the competition, with a jury selecting ten of them for today’s wildcard round. The winner will complete the lineup at the German final on Thursday 5 March as the eighth participant in USFÖ. Tonight’s decision will be solely in the hands of the televoters.

All of the artists are said to perform songs that would also be one of their entries for the German final if they are successful tonight.

Last year, the Clubkonzert was won by none less than Elaiza, who also won the actual German final and hence went forward to the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. Despite a mediocre 18th place, the girl band has since gained a lot of success in its home country of Germany, as well as in neighbouring Austria and Poland.

You can find all the details of tonight’s show on the right-hand side. Further down, you can toggle between “Today” and “Calendar” view.

Don’t forget to join us in the #esc chat, where we’ll be watching, talking about and voting on the show.
Tonight’s songs will also compete to qualify for our own SongHunt. The scores given to each song by our chatters will have an influence on which songs will qualify for the next heat, to be launched on Sunday.
