The United Kingdom entry for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest was revealed this evening in a special broadcast by the BBC. The internally selected entry is “Still In Love With You”, performed by Electro Velvet and written by David Mindel and Adrian Bax White.
Sticking with the pattern established last year with the choice of Molly Smitten-Downes, Electro Velvet are a largely unknown male-female duo consisting of Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas. Alex, 35, performs in a Rolling Stones tribute act called the Rolling Clones, while Bianca, 26, has cystic fibrosis and failed to persuade anyone to turn their chair around for her on The Voice.
ESC fans will breathe a sigh of relief that the song is up-tempo, given the relatively slow average pace of the entries chosen to date. However, the presence of yet another male-female act in the 2015 line-up will not necessarily be quite as welcome.
With the duo being an unknown quantity and the performance relying heavily on its choreography, this will surely be one of the most hotly awaited first rehearsals in Vienna. In the meantime, you can see what you think of the UK entry in its studio version below:
