And yet another Eurovision Song Contest is over!
It was the 6th consecutive year for us (formerly esc-chat.com, now escgo!) covering the contest in the respective host city. And Vienna was a good host! We were amazed by the friendliness of the staff and the locals, the conditions in the press centre were perfect, and we especially liked how centrally this year’s contest was located in the city.
After lots of rehearsal blogging, taking photos, feeding our sidebar-liveblog and technical work on the website, it’s now time for us to relax a bit and, especially, to say thank you to our readers!
In an atmosphere of tighter competition, with more and more Eurovision fan websites popping up, we are happy and proud to say that our visitor numbers are more than stable. On top of that, we crossed the mark of 1,800 followers on Twitter and got closer to our 200th like on Facebook in the last few weeks. Thank you for your faith and support!
However, we also know that we announced more content than we actually could deliver, due to reasons that couldn’t be planned in advance. At times, escgo in Vienna consisted of only one person, and we definitely feel the need and wish to grow – not only where visitor numbers are concerned, but also with regard to our team. Hence, we are officially calling out for interested people to get in touch! If you could be interested to join our team, just send us an email at info@escgo.com – and we will take it from there.
What else is left to say? We hope you stay tuned to us throughout the off-season as well, where “SongHunt”, our search for the best national final song, is still going on (you can vote for your favourite in quarter-final 3 here). Don’t forget to visit our chat on the front page – it’s not just there for discussing the shows, but also a good place to socialise and find new friends. And finally, we look forward to accompanying you as attention turns to next year’s contest. Whether in Stockholm, Gothenburg or Klimpfjäll, the path to ESC 2016 starts here, and escgo! will be there every step of the way.
